The project for today is the installation of the eight Pratt & Whitney R-4360 engines on the wings of the "Spruce Goose" high overhead. All eight engines begin the trip to the wings sitting in the upright position. Under the direction of Project Director Wright, workmen carefully lay the engines in a temporary cradle prior to beginning the hoisting operation.

Mike Wright is no stranger to classic airplanes. In charge of maintenance and repair of the museum's collection of flying classics, Wright spends his days surrounded by several beautiful examples of World War II fighters, bombers and transports.
