Big Building!

The museum does not have a date set for opening but is expected to open by fall of this year or earlier. The project to save this historic airplane from being cut up and distributed to various museums has taken over eight years to accomplish. Now it will be up to us, the people of this country and the world to help continue this process. Visit the museum, show your support for our aviation heritage.

authors notes: My first experiences with this airplane were writing about her plight while in storage and later, designing the website for the spruce goose museum. Though I no longer perform the duty as webmaster, I will never forget my time with the fine people at Evergreen and with this wonderful airplane.

There is a wealth of historic photography within the photo gallery of the original site.. If you get there before the changeover to the new version (coming soon from what we understand) you can see some amazing close up views of the airplane under construction and during the later years in storage.
