GUT Works, L.L.C. of
Lawrence, KS to buy assets and start production
September 13th, 2001, Colorado Springs, CO., TBG -Press
Release
The Thunder
Builders Group is excited to announce that we have
reached an agreement in principal with GUT Works, L.L.C.
of Lawrence, KS. to buy the Thunder Mustang molds and
intellectual property and begin manufacturing this
incredible airplane again.
The Thunder Builders Group was formed with the primary
goal of assuring our members the delivery of all the
parts necessary to complete their kits after Papa51 Ltd.
ran into financial difficulties. Once we successfully
accomplished that goal, our focus was then directed to
preserving the assets required to someday see this great
P-51D replica go back into production. That day is here!
Look for the press release from GUT Works and their booth
set up at the Reno Air Races for more information.
Production slots are available at this time. Email
inquiries should be sent to sales@thundermustang.com or
call GUT Works at 785-312-9880.
In addition to this latest news for all Thunder Mustang
fans is that three new Thunders have flown since the
beginning of August!
Ernesto Estradas Miss Lili flew August
7th under the command of Dave Morss assisted by Precision
Aircraft of Nampa, ID. The second week proved to be
equally exciting for American Air Racing in Reno, NV. as
partner John Parker flew Blue Bijou on August
14th with help from his team. And the very next week
Gunther Balz, the 1972 Reno Air Race Unlimited Gold
Champion, flew his Thunder Mustang, N53GB, for the first
time.
Go to aafo.com to see a special report on the American
Air Racing teams first flight. You can also see some good
shots of Miss Lili at
www.precision-aircraft.net.
Plans are for both Blue Bijou and Miss
Lili to race in the Sport Class race this week at
the Reno Air Races, Sept 13th through 16th. It should be
an exciting time for all. Stay tuned!!
Many of the TBG members and representatives of GUT Works,
will be at the 2nd annual ThunderStorm hosted
by John Parker at the American Air Racing facilities
(located at the Reno Stead Airport) during the Reno Air
Races. Feel free to stop by and see Blue
Bijou and ask any of us about the amazing Thunder
Mustang. Miss Lill will be on display in the
unlimited pit area at the Precision Aircraft booth.
