We had been given a 10
minute hold by "race control" as they
fit our race start into the very tight schedule
at AirVenture. It was an awfully fast 10 minutes,
as the call came in to come downhill and begin
our approach for the race start, seemingly
moments after we were airborne.
My heart pounded with
excitement as the line of airplanes beside us
tightened and straightened their formation and we
began our run at the start of this race!
My "inner
child" was SCREAMING "WOW Look At
This!" while my resolve to keep my eye on
the camera kept the child at bay and my finger on
the shutter.
