The events of 9-11-2001 stopped the AirShow industry in its tracks... If the events of 2002 are any indication, there has been a renaissance and more!

2002 not only brought many shows back that were cancelled in 2002, it brought a new event to Las Vegas when World of Wings produced the first annual "Las Vegas Air Racing" demonstration event at the Nellis Air Show "Aviation Nation 2002," held at the United States Air Force's Nellis AFB.

In this first installment of photography from that event, we feature the photography of Portland Oregon photographer, Sue Petersen.

Those of you who follow Air Racing will be familiar with Sue's work. Featured in several magazines during her career, Ms. Petersen's work has not been seen nearly enough over the past few years. We're about to do our best to change that!

In this first gallery, we begin our long "off-season" coverage of Air Racing and Air Shows. The winter, almost upon us, might bring a chill but we're going to do our best to light the fires as we kick the tires with our 2002 Air Race and Air Show photo reports!
