The damage is not minor on Dago Red's winning race engine. Within the outline in this photograph, you can only see the "minor" portion of the damage. In fact, the front of the engine case is nearly completely broken off! Several large holes are in the oil pan but hidden by the blue tube (bent by the force of the failure) lies a large crack running upwards from the damage seen in this picture. "We haven't even checked up there yet" said engine man Steve Bartoff, of the ominous crack, "it's done" he continued, describing the total destruction of the powerful race engine.
