Reno 2000: The Week in Pictures
Formula One

The action this year in this class focused on an abandoned "throne." Jon Sharp had retired his nearly unbeatable "Nemesis" to concentrate on the Sharp's new Sport Class Racing project, NemesisNXT. This opened the door for a thrilling week of action in the International Formula One (IF1).

In this shot, we see Ib Hanson skimming one of the inner pylons that make up the back side of the IF1 course. Ib qualified his Cassutt racer, "Quad Nickel" at a respectable 199.329mph, finishing the week with a seventh place Silver finish at 192.702mph. Not the fastest of the fast, but damn fast for a Cessna 150 engine!
