Reno 2000: The Week in Pictures
Critical Mass during takeoff for it's 429.610 mph qualification run. Critical Mass posted two faster speeds, but strangely enough, was disqualified for flying wide on a course that it had practiced on in June, at Pylon School. Critical Mass was a "Did Not Start" in her first race on Friday after a major fuel leak developed during start up, then handily won the Unlimited Silver Heat 3B on Saturday at a speed of 423.800 mph, putting the former Skyraider pilot in Sunday's Gold event.
