"FURIAS 2000"

A tribute to a hard working crew, Race 15 "Furias" was transformed from a "hangar queen" to a "race queen" in far less time than was needed or expected. Furias appeared this year transformed from the traditional Red & Gold paint scheme race fans had come to know over the years of competition with this airplane by her former owner, the late Lloyd Hamilton. Deciding on a new "look" for the airplane was a daunting task for Bill Rogers, his sponsors and crew. This "retro" look paint job, applied in a very short time frame, brings back visions of the post-war air races of long ago. Off-season work is underway on this classic machine, but as of last report, does not include a change in paint scheme as some have predicted. What will happen to the machine? Well, I'd suspect you'll see a lot less oil on her flanks, a lot less smoke in her exhaust and a lot less time on her lap clock at Reno 2001. Always a team to keep a close eye on, the Rogers - Stolzer racers are not about to sit idle with this machine!
