"Family Affair"

Of all the things we wanted to see at Reno 2000, Jimmy Franklin and his son Kyle doing their stuff with the Jet Powered Waco was very high on our list. Jimmy made this pass on our position at Pylon 8 during a lull between Heat Races during Saturday's competition. Flying the highly modified 1937 Waco UPF-7 with a both a 450HP Pratt & Whitney 985 hanging on the nose and a GE CJ610-6 Turbojet engine strapped to the belly has to be a handful for Kyle's dad but WHAT a ride for this young man! Kyle is the youngest wing walker on the airshow curcuit and the only "Jet-Wing Walker" anywhere in the world!
