Saturday, August 28, 2001, dawns with rain and cloudy skies. Though the cooler temperatures were a welcome relief from the hot and humid conditions prevalent during the early part of the week at AirVenture 2001, this was our day to shoot the race start from the pace plane. The lighting gods would not smile on us for this day in the back seat of Gene McNeely's AeroShell T-6.
