"Mustang at three
o'clock... close." My pilot for this shoot,
had asked me to help with traffic spotting due to
the hazy conditions at Oshkosh on this day...
What a sight seeing this airplane forming up on
our starboard side!
"Pace plane
photographer, open your window now" Jimmy
said on the radio as I took this first shot
through the Plexiglas of McNeely's AeroShell T-6.
Unknown to Jimmy, I had been briefed to wait for
Gene's command to open the window and had just
asked "is it time yet?"
Signaling Jimmy the
"two minutes" two finger salute, as I
could hear him but not transmit to him,
"Pace plane pilot, have your photographer
open his window" was the response...
I was free!! The window
came open!
