Begins!
As we get
ever closer to the 2005 Reno National
Championship Air Races, much speculation
has begun to flow about who is doing
what? It's not much of a secret that the
Rare Bear guys have been planning on aero
mods to the airplane to attempt to give
them a better chance at repeating their
win in 2004. Official news from the team
has been hard to come by this year but
our man in Reno, Mike Gallagher made a
trip to the "Bear Cave" this
last weekend to get a first hand look.
Mike filed the photos you
see on this page and from them, we'll all
have to gather whatever we can about just
exactly what the team
did to the flow over the wing on the Rare
Bear.
Sources
close to the team tell us that flight
testing will commence soon and that the
airplane is in better mechanical
condition than it has been in many years.
Who will get the Gold on
Sunday??? The pot has definitely been
stirred!
