"Checker
Tail"
To many, the lines
of the North American P-51
Mustang are simply the finest to
ever grace a craft designed to
take to the sky. One look at this
Canon 10D photo by Arnold
Greenwell and one might well find
it hard to disagree.
Here we are with
Halloween right around the corner
yet we find ourselves just now
replacing the POTW from June!
Beginning with this
new and very beautiful picture
from the Experimental Aircraft
Association's Oshkosh AirVenture
2004, taken by our new AAFO
contributor, we're going to try
to make this a weekly feature
once again.
With very little
shown in the photo to identify
the subject aircraft, for Mustang
trackers, this photo begs the
question: Just which airplane is
this? Check in at the Hangar Talk
Message Board (click here) for a
discussion on this subject.
Welcome
Arnold Greenwell
For
more than ten years, Greenwell
was one of the official EAA
convention photographers shooting
at Oshkosh and Sun-n-Fun. His
works have been published in
several publications, including
AOPA Pilot, and Southern Aviator
Magazine. Arnold's photos have
been featured in EAA calendars
and also as museum contributions.
Arnold is a private pilot, a
member of the Wings of Carolina
Flying Club, the National Press
Photographer's Association and
the International Society of
Aviation Photographers.
In
addition to the EAA events that
Arnold has covered, he is also a
member of the Reno National
Championship Air Races press
corps and has a collection of
photos from that event. Arnold
shoots both digital and film
cameras but says he prefers
digital. We ask you to join us as
we welcome new talent to the
ranks of those who contribute to
help make this website "the
very best in aviation
photography" on the
Internet.
Welcome
Arnold Greenwell!
