"Voodoo Man"

One of the best people in all of air racing on anyone's list just has to be "Voodoo Man" Bob Button! Bob interest in flying stems from his dad who flew and always wanted a Mustang. Tragically, Bob's father was lost in an aircraft accident and never got that Mustang.

When the opportunity for Bob to own one came along, he took it and from all indications, never looked back. Bob has campaigned his sleek North American steed for many years, first with Bob Hannah at the controls and then Matt Jackson.

It has never been easy for this team! Suffering engine failures, control system problems, propeller governor failures and seemingly everything in-between, Bob has stayed with the competition throughout. Currently Bob has shown his dedication to the sport in the ultimate way by training in and racing his sleek North American P-51 Mustang airplane himself.

Seen here rounding pylon seven at the National Championship Air Races Pylon Racing School, one hell of a great guy, Voodoo Man, Bob Button!
